It's gotta start sometime

I wanted to start this blog upon moving to Grand Forks nearly 6 years ago, and now I sit typing my first words as I'm getting ready to say goodbye. It's never too late to reflect on the past and prepare for the future. Since being encouraged (by a good friend) to start journaling, I have written several pieces on adventuring, rock hounding, minimalist running, endurance races, gardening/foraging and ideas that could benefit others in this journey we call life. I hope to add to those great experiences even more in the upcoming years and this blog will help me share my story with others and receive feedback from family and friends.. I hope to someday soon, write a book, so this is my start, cheers :)

I booked my trip to Juneau on a whim after finding a cheap ticket, it had been 3 years since I had been to the last frontier and I was eager to go back. With a friend living there I had a home base and was excited to go adventuring! It was a full day of travel from Billings, MT thus arriving late in Juneau I did not get to see much that night. The next day (Aug 19) I was lead to a nearby trailhead for Thunder Mt (apparently its name comes from the avalanches in the winter sounding like thunder), it was raining (not surprised since it is the rainforest!) Actually it looked like I was headed through a jungle walking on large wooden planks, but that didn’t last long, I crossed a small creek and the trail went straight up, over roots, mud bogs, rocks thus entering the never-ending muskeg. Living in the present

I haven't wrote much down over the past 2 months while enjoying time with family and friends across the midwest. It was a fun tour filled with love, laughter, and adventures. While I start to reflect on the past 2 months all I can think of is how lucky I am to be rich in friends! So cheers to you and thanks for the support, I hope we make more memories in the future. Vicarious Adventure Continues

Over 1000 blog visits in the past 6 months, that is simply amazing, thank you. This following gives me the confidence needed to continue the blog, photo books and hopefully an actual book someday soon. I have made one photo/scrap book through shutterfly of my Centennial trail adventure, as some people don’t like to read and look at photos online. The scrap books are a bit more time intensive to make and cost $ (unlike the blog), if you’re interested in buying one please send me a message.
